2009 Grantham Prize Seminar on the State of Environmental Journalism
The fourth annual Grantham Prize Seminar on the State of Environmental Journalism was held in Washington, D.C. at the Knight Conference Center at The Newseum, on October 5, 2009. The seminar, which was free and open to the public, honored the year's Grantham Prize winners and provided a forum for discussion about timely issues in the coverage of environmental news.

The 2009 Grantham Prize Seminar began with presentations by the 2009 Grantham Prize Winners and the Award of Special Merit recipients. The Seminar concluded with a discussion featuring Bill Blakemore, ABC News, and Jane Lubchenco, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. This conversation, Science in the News: Communicating Environmental Impacts, provided an insightful look at the regulatory vision of Dr. Lubchenco, Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere at NOAA.
